Water-based lubricant: what it is
A water-based lubricant is a lubricating gel composed mainly of, precisely, water. Natural water-based lubricants were created precisely because water is a particularly ductile liquid that binds with many other natural elements and not and can therefore form a liquid gel with a viscous consistency, while ensuring a greater degree of compatibility with most types of skin. The natural lubricant can also contain other extracts of plant origin that give the gel active ingredients useful for special cases, if you want for example a cooling effect or extra lubrication.
Why choose a water-based lubricant
Lubrication is a natural process in women, particularly active during arousal, due to the increased blood flow that causes an increase in vaginal secretions, with the aim of making penetration painless - indeed, hopefully pleasant. Menopause, pregnancies, drug treatment and the birth control pill can lead to conditions of vaginal dryness, temporary or permanent, and in these cases the water-based lubricating gel can determine the difference between a pleasant and a painful vaginal penetrative intercourse. The same is true for anal penetration. Between 60 and 70 percent of the human body is composed of water, so it's no wonder that water-based lubricants are so popular!
Difference between water-based and silicone lubricants
Natural lubricating gels are particularly popular for a number of undeniable advantages that eliminate the drawbacks sometimes found in silicone-based lubricants: unlike oil-based and silicone-based ones, in fact, they have significant advantages in terms of compatibility with skin, mucous membranes, condoms, silicone sex toys and sheets, since they do not stain! Moreover, it varies a lot the feeling on the skin: let's take for example an aloe vera gel for intimate parts. The feeling of fluid slipperiness then gives way to a dry feeling of freshness and regeneration, while in the case of coconut oil or a silicone-based lubricant the sticky feeling remains long after penetration and must be rinsed off with a shower. The natural vaginal lubricant tends to be less viscous than the natural anal lubricant, but this does not make it any less effective in its lubricating action. In some cases, however, it is advisable to use a water-based natural lubricant even in the case of anal penetration, such as when preparing for anal penetration with a silicone-coated butt plug that would be ruined if in contact with a silicone lube. (Remember: silicone with silicone, better not). In addition to this aspect, there are other factors to consider, such as the duration of the lubricant: water-based intimate gel tends to evaporate faster, requiring several applications for a long and engaging sexual intercourse.
How to use water-based lubricant
Natural intimate gel is the most versatile and easy-to-use water-based lubricant. If we take into account the fact that their formula makes them evaporate a little faster for the rest we can use them in all cases where the bodies, mucous membranes, emotions and passion are involved. The only precaution: do not use them while bathing or in the shower because they are water soluble and would immediately lose all their action.
Water-based lubricants for sexual relations
Use natural lubricants in all your intimate relationships: from mutual masturbation to penetration. Water-based intimate lubricant gel eliminates the risk of an allergic reaction during sexual intercourse, especially to the mucous membranes, which are very delicate. This is the secret of the water-based lubricant: its ingredients can even defuse the slightly irritating effects of continuous and vigorous friction. This is why some gels are enriched with aloe vera: as a lubricant it is really effective and at the same time has a marked soothing action. Aloe vera applied to the genitals is safe and refreshing. Apply a knob of lubricant on your and your partner's intimate parts, perhaps making the application process an erotic game, full of seduction. As soon as you feel that you want more slipperiness, reach out and pour more lubricant: applications can make intercourse more fun, articulate, and definitely long. The important thing is to have a handy package, within reach.
Water-based lubricants with sex toys
The water-based lubricant here is in its territory of choice: it is undoubtedly the most suitable lubricant for the use of toys because most quality toys are coated with medical silicone smooth to the touch that could be irreversibly damaged if treated with silicone-based lubricant. Liberally apply water-based lubricating gel to the toy and intimate area before use for a gliding, pleasurable effect that doesn't compromise the integrity of the toy.
Water-based lubricants with condoms
At the time of manufacture, the condom is coated with a minimal amount of lubricant, which improves the fit, making it easier to apply. If you add lubricant once the condom is on,you improve the smoothness of penetration. Water-based lubricants are compatible with most skin types and all materials, including latex condoms and alternative latex-free condom materials. You can apply the gel directly over the condom and onto the orifice you intend to penetrate.
